We start with stunning works by renowned photographers. All of the photographs are accurately printed with carbon inks on pure cotton paper. Short texts, masterly typeset, accompany them. A team of skilful craftsmen, originally trained as restorers of antique books, apply the finest techniques of antique bookbinding to the creation of contemporary photobooks. With unrivalled results. Each sheet is ribbed by hand, on both faces, with genuine bone folders. Then patiently sewn using a ‘monastic stretcher’. Books, 29,7 x 42 cm, are available in English, French, German, and Italian. Bound in quarter or in full leather, and finally enclosed in hand made Solander cases. Copies can be customized further at the collector’s wish. Leather can be enriched with precious toolings. Case bindings can be chosen from among twelve marbled papers, hand made expressly for us in Florence. Loose 50 x 60 cm platinotypes or silver gelatin prints, platinum-palladium toned, can also be included in a separate case. Until full satisfaction of the collector’s desires.
